This would be the virtio replacement for the serial console. Windows 
doesn't really have a "serial" console at all, so don't worry about it.

The one on sourceforge is a driver for the virtio device, not the e1000 
device -- so if you're using an e1000, the Intel driver is appropriate; 
if you change your VM to use a virtio device, you'll need the one off 
sourceforge.
