hi

following situation:
- 1 physical host, 1x windows 2008 guest = clock ok
- 1 physical host, 2x windows 2008 guest = clock drifts

seen with kvm-0.11 and kvm-0.12.3 and kernel 2.6.32.

not tried the rtc option "driftfix" as man kvm states it only applies to
i386 and i'm running debian amd64.

Try it then. man kvm includes amd64 into i386.

Almost forgot. driftfix does not work for win2k8 64 bit smp guest
currently.

forgot to tell that these are win2008 64bit guest systems (actually
Windows 2008 Small Business Server "Premium").

hoping then for a working 64bit driftfix option. :)

thanks

It will work for uniprocessor guests, just not for smp guests.

TARGET_I386 is also true for amd64. However, the code appears broken
upstream.

Please post this on qemu-devel.

Do not meddle in the internals of kernels, for they are subtle and quick to panic.
