in mmu.txt,there is: a shadow page may contain a mix of leaf and nonleaf sptes.
does it mean that some of sptes points to other shadow pages and some points to pfn?

Yes, nonleaf sptes point to other shadow pages and leaf sptes point to GFNs or PFNs
