This is Qemu-related bug.

KVM-52 doesn't compiles on some machine.

Uri found out, that those "some machines" don't have zlib-devel installed, so the configure script works fine but compiling will fail.

zlib is used by qcow.

Current behavior:
./configure runs fine
make fails

Needed behavior:
./configure script should tell the user that zlib-devel is not found.

Hi,

I just tried this against upstream qemu, and the missing zlib dependency
is detected correctly:

[jes@red-feather qemu-hacks]$ ./configure --target-list=x86_64-softmmu

Error: zlib check failed
Make sure to have the zlib libs and headers installed.

Same happens for qemu-kvm.
