Greg, please let me know if there are any updates needed for the patch. 
Otherwise, please include the patch in the char-misc tree.

Thank you very much to all the people who have helped with design 
discussions, implementation and testing, code reviews, issues fixing, 
distros integration and overall maintenance during the past years. This 
has been a useful experience and I'll keep up improving.
