I use VMware a lot and assumed that this would be the place. However I have not been able to get Elks to boot under VMware (I have version 3.0). The boot starts (four dots), then "Boot Failed. Is there anything that I need to know here ? I have also tried dosemu as a test environment. It installs fine but, because I have to alt-f2 to see my login on a hard drive root install (I assume that is normal ?) I can't login. Is there any way you can alt-f2 under dosemu ? Failing these two environments can anyone suggest any others that will overcome my issue ? Have I overlooked something that means my hard drive installation of Elks would not require alt-f2 after boot to give me my login prompt ? Many Thanks for any assistance with this. Neil
