It would help a lot before attacking the HDD problem. Anyway... there is a new payload in the 'bootblocks' folder, named 'probe.bin', that queries the BIOS for the actual geometry of the HDD. Could you please DD that payload to your CF first sectors (2) and give us what is displayed on boot ?
