Ok. cat /proc/interrupts. Do ACPI and USB share an interrupt. Try without
ACPI. Is the same interrupt being assigned to USB as with ACPI enabled?

This is a problem I somehow don't think is an acpi-bug. Since everything else works fine with acpi, I think it must be the usb code that is buggy. Especially since it does not work with MPS set to version 1.4. Oh well. The USB code relies on the PCI subsystem exclusively for anything to do with IRQ's. The PCI subsystem thusly relies on a couple of different subsystems, one of them being ACPI. This is not a USB problem.
