Hi all.

I've been meaning for a while to send this bug report. Here's an extra
from my /var/log/messages (Omnibook XE3, over-ridden DSDT).

As you'll see from the BIOS's RAM map, the ACPI data is at 276f0000. By
the time we get to execing the _STA and _INI methods, however, the
system is trying to find the information at 76f0000. Could there be a
mask incorrectly applied somewhere?

Regards,

Nigel

By over-riddent DSDT, you mean you have retrived it from someone
else ? If yes, check if the two laptop have the _same_ amount
of memory. If not, then look at the DSDT and change all
thinks that try to access memory to match the correct one.

DSDT may be generated dynamically by BIOS at POST stage exactly
due to this kind of concern.

Hi.

Thanks for the reply.

My laptop has gained 512MB since you made the override (it's from your
site). I'll try recompiling it. Sorry - that hadn't occurred to me as a
factor.

Regards,

Nigel

It's my fault. I should warn more people that override their DSDT
that upgrading/downgrading the amount of RAM may have issues.
More specifically, some methods need to access to the NVRAM which
is located differently if you change the amount of ram since it
is located relatively to the top of mem.

Cheers,
