I have a laptop that can successfully enter the S3 state (kernel 2.6.5),
but it will not come out. The behavior for coming out of S3 in Windows
is to press the power button. In Linux this action does nothing. I have
to remove the battery and wait several seconds before I can start up the
computer again. I was wondering if anyone knew of possible causes of
this behavior so I could further my investigation into what is wrong.
Incidentally, this laptop suffers from this "bug":
http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1920. The patch attached to
the bug fixes the problem, but does not fix my S3 problem. I don't know
if the two are related.
Thanks to anyone who can help.
