As soon as the kernel loads the CPU and case fan stop spinning. Neither will reactivate even when the system is put under load. Doing this just causes the machine thermal alarm to go off and basically shutdown. Booting up using APM instead of ACPI and the fans appear to operate as expected. Currently I have the 2.6.7 kernel with Debian patches compiled. Thanks in advance.
