Hi,
I get the following reports in my kernel log for key press and release
of a "AV MODE" key. The key is situated in a set of multimedia keys
above the RHS of the keyboard on the aforementioned laptop model.

sony-laptop: Unknown event: 0x100 0xa1
sony-laptop: Unknown event: 0x100 0x21

Thanks.
Matthew W.S. Bell

What's this button meant to do?

Hah, right. I think that button is supposed to launch some sony provided
application to start some multimedia experience with the laptop. Kind of
connecting the hdmi to the tv and starting to watch some movie I guess.

Matthew, do you have any idea what input key can be used for it?

I don't use the original software, and the supplied documentation
doesn't mention it, but it seems to be intended to be a shortcut key to
a media player.[1] There is also an "S1" key in the same group of
buttons that is intended to be used as a shortcut, or, perhaps, special
key.

AFAIR S1 and S2 are user-programmable keys that can feature a list
of several actions, from starting a program to making the laptop explode.

Best wishes

Norbert
