Did you try to ssh login to your machine when issue happen?

I can't connect to my machine during this issue.

I've realized sometimes the issue appears from the first time I close
the cover. So I don't know the circumstances in which the bug happens.
Curious. Could it be a BIOS bug?

The "shut down" means still under "Suspend to RAM" status?
There must have a LED blinking, does it still blinking when the issue
happen?

I have no good idea for that. I thought you should file a bug to kernel
bugzilla, then may have more kernel expert will help.

Your efforts are always welcome. I don't have knowledge enough to
explain you if it's a "Suspend to RAM" or a different strategy.

I think more kernel experts can help me in that.

The summary explains it all.

In my 7720G laptop, the first time I close and open the cover it
resumes perfectly. But from the second and subsequent times when I
press some key or the shutdown button in order to resume, the system
remains in black screen and it doesn't resume.

Have you seen similar situations?
