I honestly don't think it has anything to do with the DSDT; I think that there 
is a subtle bug somewhere in the ACPI code which reads out the battery level 
from the controller that causes the hang.

I mean the DSDT organizes what is there and how to get to it, but doesn't 
actually have any code that is executed to obtain the information, correct?
