Anyone have any recommendations? I figure if I send the updated dsdt into
the general technical support email address then I'll just get a form letter
back and nobody will ever pay attention to it

If you have a corrected DSDT for an HP ProLiant or HP Evo, please send
it to me and I'll make sure it gets in front of a BIOS developer. (In
the case of ProLiant it will get fixed, but I can't make a guarantee on
Evo.)

Thanks,
John

Nope, sorry. This is a modified one for Pavilion and Omnibook laptops. Thanks
to work by Robert Moore I can now see my battery fine and numerous other things
work well. Looks like I'm still missing S1 and S2 in /proc/acpi/sleep but
the DSDT is a heck of a lot better than it was before.

Would you please describe the problem.
I guess someone on this list could run into same problem.
And your experience will help them.

Thanks,
Luming

The problems my ACPI table had? Sure, it would neither go into S1 nor allow the
battery status to be read. Robert Moore, also from Intel, helped with the
battery status issues and now that is working fine. I still don't have S1
capability under Linux but I have uploaded the asl table to acpi.sf.net.

Also, if you dump the dsdt and compile it with the intel compiler you see
all the same error the Compaq bios tables have. Fixing these errors
and recompiling causes the battery status to work (can't say about S1).

this, on an hp zt1260

one thing to note - there are several bios upgrades for the zt1260; the
last one (1.05?) slightly improves the dsdt but doesn't address the
battery problem.

(the last time I upgraded my backlight failed and it took me a month to figure
out it was a hardware problem and not caused by the bios upgrade :-)
