Hi all!

I'm having good news for all linux i8k5 users. With the kernel 2.6.0-test6 and the acpi patch of 20030918 I can suspend the laptop correctly and resume BUT:

-Tested with Nvidia binary drivers and executing suspend in Xfree:

Suspend:Ok
Resume: BAD. The system freezes.

-Tested without Xfree direct from console (framebufered 0x31B)

Suspend:Ok.
Resume:Bad, but the system is ok only the screen has cubes of colors maybe the framebuffer is th problem????

-Tested without Xfree direct from console without vesa frambuffer

Suspend:Ok
Resume:Ok!!

-Tested in Xfree with nv driver for gforce-4200go without vesa fb

Suspend:Ok
Resume:Ok!
Comments:
-The usb seems not be resumed, in a previous acpi version I've listen something about it. I will seach more info and i'll tell all new advance.
-The network is down perhaps something happened with daemons..
-When you switch to console (ctrl-ALT FX) it was damaged..some problems setting the resolution seems.

Well, I sent this to linux-dell-laptop for people interested in this.

Good resuming!

Suspending and resuming reminds me of a Seinfeld episode. Suspending is
easy. It's the resuming that's hard.

JERRY: I don't understand. I made a reservation. Do you have my
reservation?
RENTAL ASSISTANT: Yes we do. Unfortunately we ran out of cars.
JERRY: But the reservation keeps the car here, that's why you have the
reservation!
RENTAL ASSISTANT: I know why we have reservations.
JERRY: I don't think you do. If you did, I would have a car. You see, you
know how to take the reservation, you just don't know how to hold the
reservation. And that's really the most important part of the reservation:
the holding. Anybody can just take them.

Suspend to disk or ram? If ram, you might want to add
acpi_sleep=s3_mode to command line.
