Subject: Fan off and Asus M3N
Date: Sun, 26 Oct 2003 08:48:38 -0600 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <20031026144838.GA461@austinchronicle.com> (raw)
Well, I tried something different - I didn't load the fan module on
boot, and instead loaded it first thing from the command line with the
temp below 55. Usually, /proc/acpi/fan/FN00/state would say on no matter
what, but now starting it this way it said off. The fan was indeed off
and the temp was below 55. Once the temp rose above the 55 trip_point
the /proc/acpi/fan/FN00/state changed to on! But the fan stays off.
But that value does now change from on to off and back to on.
echo -n foo > /proc/acpi/fan/FN00/state also does nothing.
If there's anything I can help to debug I'll be happy to.
