a solution.

I believe it is quite difficult to find out a solution in
mailing list. Bugzilla is better!

	>I also have the problem that when i echo 3 > /proc/acpi/sleep
it suspends but will never wake up again. The (normally green) power led
flashes red but when i re->press a button on the keyboard or the power
button, the power led turns back into green, the battery led turns on
but thats it. The hdd and the screen keeps off.

	>I put dsdt and dmesg output on some crappy webspace so maybe
this does help anyone to help me.

S3 doesn't resume for your too? So far, I found VARIO z1sp,
Fujitsu Lifebook S series (6120D), ASUS M2400N cannot resume from S3.

It looks like a generic problem.

oOPS... Snafu here.. My script is actually to state S1 not S3..

echo 3 > /proc/acpi/sleep actually does _nothing_

echo 1 > /proc/acpi/sleep is Ok..

I think we need to find out common things , and fix them one by one!
bugzilla.kernel.org will help us to track any ACPI issue.

I think you are right.. I will check it out..

Each time I reboot/shutdown, I notice that it syncs with the hardware clock.

I will look into the startup/shutdown scripts.

I will try your suggestion..

Thanks

On my D600.. I can get S3 to work.. and it can also come back to life.. If
not mistaken,
the mouse would be all screwed up but, going to a Virtual console and back
to the GUI fixes it.

Only problem is my Date&Time is screwed up. It keeps the Time&Date at the
time of sleep!!! I'm not sure if that's due to ACPI or something else..

Hi there,

i've read now ~5 hours the posts of vaio problems in this mailing list. All
have (nearly) the same problems but i never could find a solution.

I also have the problem that when i echo 3 > /proc/acpi/sleep it suspends
but will never wake up again. The (normally green) power led flashes red but
when i re-press a button on the keyboard or the power button, the power led
turns back into green, the battery led turns on but thats it. The hdd and
the screen keeps off. I have to remove ac adaptor and battery before i can
bring it to live again. Pressing the power button a few seconds does not
work.

I put dsdt and dmesg output on some crappy webspace so maybe this does help
anyone to help me.

http://de.geocities.com/nils_z1sp/dmesg.gz and
http://de.geocities.com/nils_z1sp/dsdt.gz

i also played a little bit around with dsdt and iasl but i think, i'm not
enough into that matter to do the necessary changes.

Thanks in advance and greets,

nils
