I don't think so (but I am perhaps wrong).  A thermal zone is not a
device.

Normally, _REG() is called by the OS, but I have seen some AML that
call _REG though with a _INI() (a thinkpad, IIRC) depending of the
content of _OS or the return of _OSI().
