Hi,
i got a problem on my laptop. acpi is compiled into the kernel and i'm
currently running kernel v2.6.4-vanilla.
the problem popped up when i started using 2.6.3 or 2.6.2 (can't remember
exactly), but i know absolutely for sure that it hasn't been like this all
the time.
the problem is that my fan doesn't work correctly.
when i compile heavy stuff during a certain time, the fan still runs like
there was "no load" and i get these kernel mesages:
<snip>
CPU#0: Running in modulated clock mode
CPU#0: Temperature/speed normal
CPU#0: Temperature above threshold
CPU#0: Running in modulated clock mode
CPU#0: Temperature/speed normal
CPU#0: Temperature above threshold
CPU#0: Running in modulated clock mode
CPU#0: Temperature/speed normal
</snip>
..... i get them all the time, so sysklogd spawns several processes and adds
new load to the system.
there is no entry in /proc/acpi/fan
the temperature is static at 75°....doesn't change....so that has to be an
error as well. but IIRC this has been like this with any kernel/acpi version.
i read some docs about testing if a dsdt is broken and how to fix it.
but i'm unable to fix it :-(.
i've included a dsdt dump from /proc
could somebody please have a look at it, and tell me how to fix it ?
thnx a lot !
