Resume fails on Thinkpad X40 with APIC enabled, works otherwise

Resume fails on Thinkpad X40 with APIC enabled, works otherwise

If I have the APIC disabled on my Thinkpad X40, resume works perfectly
providing I supply acpi_sleep=s3_bios. If I enable the APIC, the machine
resumes, gives me a couple of APIC errors and then stops responding. How
can I track this down?

Is it frozen because interrupts just don't work?
Try to run some job that does not need interrupts, i.e.
computation.
