The system gets really heated under kernel 2.6.7, while under 2.6.3 it runs much cooler. Also I see from metering power consumption that=20 it seems like the CPU does not do idle looping. It does not reach 80 degrees, but something like 65 degrees is common, while on 2.6.3 the system stays about 48 degrees.
