Suspend to RAM works with user mode VGA ROM post.
Just a short HOWTO(based on kernel 2.6.8-rc2 + recent acpi patch from
acpi.sf.net):
*Apply the resume-finish-split patch to the kernel.
*Use the attached dsdt(see acpi.sf.net how to do this)
*the boot-radeon.c program can ROM-post the radeon card(compile with gcc
boot-radeon.c -o boot-radeon -llrmi) You need the lrmi libs+headers. Call it
after resuming from S3. You have to call it from console. If you use X, you
can do this:
chvt 1
boot-radeon
chvt 7
Before going to S3 you'll have to unload ehci-hcd. All other drivers may
remain loaded.
The things that do not work properly:
*VGA resume with radeonfb, the most annoying problem
*sending ehci-hcd to suspend fails. uhci works
*restoring irq routing on resume. That's what the modified dsdt is for. It
forces the wlan card to use IRQ10 instead of IRQ11.
