Hi!
I'm looking for the last acpi patch for kernel 2.6.7
(acpi-20040715-2.6.7-diff), but I could not find it on the kernel.org ftp
server.
Could anyone please tell me to a location to download it, if it is still
availiable somewhere?
Thanks in advance,
soenke

i fear, it is not officially available anymore. you could try to
integrate the ACPI stuff from 2.6.8 into your 2.6.7. or ping me again
next week when i will have access to my backup harddisk which should
have a copy of the patch on it.
bye,
sebastian

The patch to 2.6.7 would be desireable since 2.6.8 and 2.6.9 doesn't
work reliably enough.
I've got another thread started that shows that I have irq_disabled
errors in 2.6.8.1 and 2.6.9-rc1-mm1 causes filesystem curruption,
rm1-mm2, suspend code/something causes a need for a keyboard press to
start writing to swap. -rc1-mm3 does not compile at "make
modules_install"

patches against 2.6.7 with ACPI-CA 20040326 and 20040715 are attached.
nothing guaranteed, though. :)

Which version of suspend? You might try adding kdb in then breaking at
the pause and getting a backtrace for the process that's suspending.

Whatever is already included in the kernel. No patching was done

Hmm.. If only I knew what you were referring to. Walk me through please.

Okay. Nothing to do with me then :>

This would still help. KDB is hosted at
http://oss.sgi.com/projects/kdb/. In short, you want to grab the -common
and -x86 patches, apply them, rebuild and reinstall the kernel (having
turning on kdb in the config). You'll then be able to press the SysRq
key at the point where your hang occurs and use the ps and btp commands
to examine what processes are running and where they're hanging.
Regards,
Nigel
