Subject: Power down broken between 2.6.8.1-mm3 and 2.6.8.1-mm4
Date: Mon, 13 Sep 2004 22:25:17 -0700 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <200409132225.17401.andre@eisenbach.com> (raw)
I reported this problem previously to this list, but finally got around to
compile about 10 kernels in a row to figure out where the power off got
broken.
On my Compaq Presario 2100 notebook 'shutdown -h now' does not power off the
computer anymore since 2.6.8.1-mm4. It works with 2.6.8.1-mm3.
The notebook will perform the regular shutdown until it displays "Power down."
and then nothing happens.
I've tried to track the code changes, but it seems like everything
under /drivers/acpi is the same between those two kernels (including
acpi_power_off)... So not sure where the problem is.
Let me know if you guys need any additional information or tests.
Thanks,
Andre
