High frequency sound when loading the processor module -- Please help

Hi,

I have a Gateway laptop, which came with a Centrino CPU. Since this is a 
Centrino, I want to load the speedstep-centrino module and the thermal zone 
module. Unfortunately, I found out that when I load the processor module, I 
hear this high frequency sound.  If I ignore it, and I go ahead and I load 
the speedstep-centrino moudle, the '/sys/device/system/cpu/cpu0/cpu-freq/' 
folder is populated and I can change the CPU frequency. In fact, if I change 
it to 800Mhz (lowest value), the volume of the sound decreases, but it is 
still annoying. 

On the other hand, in Windows everything looks and sounds normal.

I do not know what kind of informations you might need, but I can provide 
pretty much anything.
