# |cat /proc/acpi/dsdt > dsdt.aml| and |iasl -d dsdt.aml > dsdt.asl|

I would have uploaded it, but the register-user page didnt exist.

back of laptop has this model number PCG-8Q5L
top has this one VGN-A190.  go figure.

I hope the file has what you need, otherwize let me know.

Is this related to a problem report?  If so, you might
open a report at http://bugzilla.kernel.org and attach
the DSDT and other relevant information there.

Basically, Im reporting cuz of this log entry:

I have various minor issues that Ive not looked into yet,
except to see that someone has reported a number of successes with
various bits of functionality, running mandrake 10.1 on my laptop model,
and done a nice page on it.

I'm afraid you'll have to give a bit more context.  The
complete dmesg log would be a start, as well as the
specific kernel you're running.  I don't see the "SE model
detected" message you quote in the current upstream kernel.

This is from asus_acpi.c (Asus Laptop ACPI Extras), which
supports things like hotkeys to change LCD brightness,
change video outputs, etc.

I'll copy the maintainers.  They'd probably be interested
in whether those features work on your laptop with the
default values.

I forwarded the tarfile from Jim's Sep 3, 00:10:52 message, which I
think contains the DSDT.  It should be in the acpi-devel archives
if anybody else is interested.

if you meant http://acpi.sf.net/dsdt/user.php, could you please retry?
while reimplementing some stuff, i must forgotten that file. sorry for the
inconvenience.
