The current git kernel doesn't switch off power as the last step of

Thanks,
Feri.

Not really. Does it happen with 2.6.28 too?

I didn't test 2.6.28, but 2.6.24 exhibits the same issue. I can try
2.6.28.7 (or any other version) if you deem it useful. I started
compiling, but probably won't have a chance to test until tomorrow.

Yes, it would be helpful to know whether or not this is a new issue.

Yes. They don't power off under 2.6.24, 2.6.28.7 nor 2.6.29-rc7.
So this isn't a new issue.

Do you mean that the previous kernel can switch off the power when using
the halt(-p)?
How about this issue when using the command of "poweroff" on the current
git tree?
Thanks.

No, I haven't yet found a kernel which could switch off this mobo.
2.6.24 and 2.6.29-rc7 can't, at least. I'll test 2.6.28.7 shortly.

I always thought that halt -p and poweroff are exactly the same. The
userspace on these machines is pretty old, if that matters (Debian
Sarge, that is, oldstable). Does it?
