Functions and callers must be updated in the same patch - if someone
bisects to between these two then their build will be broken.

I thought through this.. But there are few drivers in
drivers/platform/x86/, that use these calls. In that case,
how will we merge them ?

Is it ok If I send 'one' patch which includes both ACPI and
Platform driver(s) changes ?

Thanks,
Durga

Yes. Send one patch that updates the API and callers simultaneously.

* [PATCH 1/2] ACPI-Thermal: Make Thermal trip points writeable

Some of the thermal drivers using the Generic Thermal Framework
require (all/some) trip points to be writeable. This patch makes
the trip point temperatures writeable on a per-trip point basis.

This patch adds a 'flag' argument to the thermal_zone_device_register
call in thermal.c.
