Greetings,

<--- welcomes himself to the list... I don't know if anything I can do
would be of help but...
My setup:

Compaq EVO n600c
2.4.18 kernel with acpi-20020918 or 2.4.20 with acpi-20021212 (I'll move
to 2.4.21preX when the next patch comes out)
I know that ACPI is not fully functional. I'm affected by the "fan not
working" issue and there are error messages coming up when I try to load
the thermal modules.
I'm willing to compile a few hundred times and perform tests for anyone
who wants to know. I'm a long time C/C++ programmer and Linux user but
I've not really done much work on the Linux kernel and I know next to
nothing about how ACPI works so I don't feel confident striking out on my
own to "make it work" on my laptop apart from the project.
