Ac adapter status

Ac adapter status

Hello all,

i have recently installed acpid.
When I read /proc/acpi/ac_adapter/0/status file, the next message
appears:

    Error reading AC Adpater status

and the console appears:

Jul  4 13:56:30 beltram kernel: evregion-0302 [03]
Ev_address_space_dispa: Region handler: AE_ERROR [System_memory]
Jul  4 13:56:30 beltram kernel: Ps_execute: method failed -

Besides, I can not obtain information about battery.
I have kernel 2.4.20 (Debian)

Can someone help me?

I'm not sure, but I don't think that debian kernels include the ACPI
patches yet. You need either 2.4.22pre2 or 2.4.21 with a patch from
http://acpi.sf.net/

You'll need to start with a fresh kernel from www.kernel.org and apply the
latest patch from acpi.sf.net. The Debian kernel has a very old patch that
doesn't do much of anything.

Hi all,

Thank you to Yin, Markus and Emma.

I have installed kernel 2.4.21 and i have applied the latest patch from
acpi.sf.net.
Now, it goes fine.
