There are announcements of patch releases for kernel 2.4.22 on
2003-10-22 and 2003-10-29, but I can't find the patches at
ftp://ftp.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/people/lenb/acpi/patches/release/2.4.22.
Are these patches available? Is there a way to extract them from BitKeeper?

In the case of acpi-20031002-2.4.22.diff, the latest patch
has over-written the previous patch because the patch name didn't
change.

This highlights a versioning issue that I've not considered important
enough to deal with, though if it confused you then maybe I should have
dealt with it;-)

The patch names are based on the ACPI_CA_VERSION in acconfig.h and the
OS version. But not every fix results in an update to the version
number in acconfig.h -- only code drops of the ACPICA core components
update that number.

Yes, per
http://ftp.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/people/lenb/acpi/patches/README.A
CPI
The full history is available in bitkeeper.

Cheers,
-Len

BitKeeper?
