Hey Ive got a my new acer 8000 laptop and Im having some problems with getting battery status info. Here are outputs from /proc/acpi/battery/BAT1/state with AC-adapter plugged in and without: ============================================================= % cat /proc/acpi/battery/BAT1/state present: yes capacity state: ok charging state: charging present rate: 0 mA remaining capacity: 3706 mAh present voltage: 0 mV % cat /proc/acpi/battery/BAT1/state present: yes capacity state: ok charging state: discharging present rate: 0 mA remaining capacity: 3720 mAh present voltage: 0 mV ============================================================ To compare, here is the same output from my friends ibm r51: ============================================================ % cat /proc/acpi/battery/BAT0/state present: yes capacity state: ok charging state: charging present rate: 30159 mW remaining capacity: 3840 mWh present voltage: 11640 mV % cat /proc/acpi/battery/BAT0/state present: yes capacity state: ok charging state: discharging present rate: 20414 mW remaining capacity: 4350 mWh present voltage: 11101 mV ============================================================= As you note my present rate and present voltage doesnt seem to be detected. This make trouble for userspace apps to read and calculate correct status. What info do you need from me? Regards -- Christian Axelsson smiler-pw/8oln/LLv0Dx+PQ6IoOQ@public.gmane.org
