However, there are a few things left to get running, and other things that I haven't tested, yet. While e.g. cat /proc/acpi/battery/BAT0/info works and delivers correct information, the most important thing to me that does not work yet is reading the state of the battery: > cat /proc/acpi/battery/BAT0/state returns nothing, the following is emitted to /var/log/messages: kernel: dswstate-0277 [83] ds_result_pop_from_bot: No result objects! State=f7c8a428 kernel: dsutils-0547 [83] ds_create_operand : Missing or null operand, AE_AML_NO_RETURN_VALUE kernel: dsutils-0640 [82] ds_create_operands : While creating Arg 2 - AE_AML_NO_RETURN_VALUE kernel: psparse-1138: *** Error: Method execution failed [\_SB_.BAT0._BST] (Node f7f8b328), AE_AML_NO_RETURN_VALUE kernel: acpi_battery-0208 [73] acpi_battery_get_statu: Error evaluating _BST The kernel running is a plain 2.6.10 with no modifications as of yet (ACPI debug info enabled). Find attached: - The content of /proc/acpi/dsdt as gziped file attachment (asus_w3479_dsdt.gz) - The content of /var/log/dmesg (inline plaintext below) - The content of /var/log/messages (inline plaintext below) - The output of "lspci -vv" (inline plaintext below) There are some ACPI-related error messages visible in /var/log/dmesg, see below. A minor thing that does not work is > cat /proc/acpi/asus/ kernel: Asus ACPI: Error reading LCD status while switching on the WLAN-indicator LED using "echo 1 >/proc/acpi/asus/wled" does work. Thanks in advance for any help you might be able to provide! If I can provide other useful information to identify the problem, just ask.
