Hi guys, I got a notebook HP/Compaq nc6000 with gentoo on it, kernel
2.6.10-gentoo-r6. I am having problems with suspend, I can put it in suspend
mode (i think) but all the control lights remain on, and I can't get back from
it; I must reboot it.

Anyone can help ?

Thanks!

Can you check whether the patch in here helps?

the patch on hwsleep.c solved half the problem, now It goes nice and clean
into sleep mode, but when I come back, both keyboard is dead and screen
remains blank.

On my (totally different notebook) it helped to add
	 acpi_sleep=s3_bios,s3_mode

to the kernel options. Also I had to remove firewire modules before
suspend.

grts Tim

Try kernel 2.6.11-rc3 or -rc4. I couldn't get S3 to work on my NC6000
before, but now it works.

I posted a kernel .config earlier to this list if you need help
compiling the kernel.

Cheers,
Lorenzo

Hi!

video.txt says:

(2) systems where it is possible to call the video BIOS during S3
  resume. Unfortunately, it is not correct to call the video BIOS at
  that point, but it happens to work on some machines. Use
  acpi_sleep=s3_bios.

HP NC6000 s3_bios, may not use radeonfb (2)

I don't know if you're tracking this too, but I would like to add that
vbetool works fine on this machine.
