Hello!
Azael Avalos looked into this issue and wrote a patch for the
toshiba_acpi module (TOS1900 device support patch) using information
from my DSDT table. I'm running a 2.6.39 kernel now using the updated
module. When I press an Fn-Fx combination, I get some kernel error messages.
Azael advised me to report on that issue here again. I am going to
attach the updated source code and the dmesg output showing the kernel
messages.
I'd really appreciate your help, kind regards,
Thomas

Hi
Basically, the following errors appear everytime an Fn-FX combo is made
ACPI Error: Result stack is empty! State=ffff8801eb0a7800 (20101013/dswstate-98)
ACPI Exception: AE_AML_NO_RETURN_VALUE, Missing or null operand
(20101013/dsutils-646)
ACPI Exception: AE_AML_NO_RETURN_VALUE, While creating Arg 0
(20101013/dsutils-763)
ACPI Error: Method parse/execution failed [\_SB_.VALZ.GETE] (Node
ffff880225d76420), AE_AML_NO_RETURN_VALUE (20101013/psparse-537)
ACPI Error: Method parse/execution failed [\_SB_.VALZ.INFO] (Node
ffff880225d763f8), AE_AML_NO_RETURN_VALUE (20101013/psparse-537)
I´m not quite sure if this is a kernel or BIOS bug (or both).
As far as I understand, the method is queried but nothing is returned...
Or maybe I´m misunderstanding something.
Saludos

Hello!
Please forgive me for asking again for your help adding ACPI support for
the Toshiba Satellite Pro L770-116 laptop to the linux kernel.
Unfortunately, I do not know how I can help developers on this other
than providing the ACPI tables of this laptop.
I uploaded the ACPI tables here:
http://www.mitterfellner.at/files/acpitables.tar.bz2
(Content: APIC.dat DSDT.dat ECDT.dat FACP.dat FACS.dat HPET.dat MCFG.dat
RSDP.dat SLIC.dat SSDT1.dat SSDT2.dat XSDT.dat)
I'd be very glad if someone could write a patch which enables the Fn-Fx
functionality for changing the display brightness and for cycling
through the LCD/VGA output modes. If you need any further information, I
will of course try to provide it.
Thank you very much for your efforts,
Thomas Mitterfellner
