Evo N610C new ROM

[Cagle, John (ISS-Houston)]

For those of you with the Evo N610C, there's a new version of the
BIOS available, with 'Linux Supports':

ml

I have not tried this yet, but hopefully it has a more compliant ACPI
implementation.

Excellent stuff. If it does then ACPI data from both would be useful and
I'll add a blacklist entry for the old one that tells people where to
get the new one, either by the ACPI data or the BIOS DMI data

You can download a modified dsdt table for N800v from

acpi.sf.net/dsdt

It has been reported to work fine with N800c also.

I have both my own DSDT patched up and another one that was offered
here ont he list a week ago; I just wondered if there was some
Compaq-specific magic on the way, since my patched DSDT had quite a
few warnings and errors when compiled. :)

I have made requests into the Evo ROM team for better ACPI compliance
(Linux ACPI is much more "correct" than Windows).  The N610C ROM is the
first one, and I'm hoping we see more updates for the other models as
well.
