Tablet PCs?

Hi, everyone.

Has anyone had a play with a "tablet PC" and linux, yet? Looks like we
might have an application that may need that combination; likely looking
hardware is a Toshiba Portege 3500. I have never even seen one in the
flesh, just wondered if anyone has encountered any particularly good or
bad things about them.

I've installed Slackware ver. 8 & 9 on a Fujitsu Stylist 1200's.  Works
great.  I use one for my nat box.  There were already linux drivers for the
touch screen so that was easy, but that's probably one of the first things
I'd try and find for the hardware you're looking at.
