Hi ,
do anybody knows how can I make a script to start an X session on another
machine ?
now I have to do :
xinit ( wait to a shell in the X server to appear )
xhost + server
ssh server
(login)
and on the server :
export DISPLAY=ip.address.client:0
startkde
I have no problem giving the commands , but this a client ( a powerful
486DX66 with 16Mb)to be used by users that don't have any idea of what they
have to
do... and they aren' t very clever ...
Thank you
David

It's much simpler if you can run xdm on the server. Then, you would
configure /usr/lib/X11/xinit/xserverrc (on the client) to start the X
server with the "-query <server ip>" option to have the X server
managed by the remote xdm.
