Hi.
I'm compiling a kernel (2.4.20) on a dual Xeon (2.8GHz) machine. I can't
figure out the best CPU type to chose for the best optimisations. I had
a look around on the web and drew a blank.
Anyone know which is best? I'm currently selecting P3, not sure if P4
will work correctly. Oh, this is gonna be a production machine, so I
don't want to risk something that will go bang later on.
Any and all thoughs helpful :)
Thanks.
Paul.

I've got similar production machines here. I just choose the P4 and make sure SMP support is enabled.
Compiles will fly. =-)
