Can someone tell me how I would address the usb port that
I have an HP cdrw device attached to? I did a lsusb and can
see that the device is recognized, but I cannot figure out
how I address the device as /dev/usb/?.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks

I don't think you do.

I've got a USB smartmedia reader, and to make that work I have to
compile SCSI disk support into my kernel. It then appears as /dev/sda
and works like a normal disk.

Maybe USB CD drives appear as either scsi CD drives (/dev/scdX) or scsi
generic drives (/dev/sgX). If you've got scsi compiled into your
kernel, look for something when your machine boots.
