I have been using djbdns for about 5 years for a small network
and it works well, with no problems (apart from the minor difficulty that
if the documentation doesn't tell you the answer, neither will reading the
source code; *studying* the source code usually works though). I used to
use bind, and switched to djbdns when bind inexplicably stopped doing what
I wanted (can't recall the details).

	John.

... if security, and the possibility of understanding the config
mechanism important, djbdns probably a good choice. having said that,
djbdns is not 'stand-alone', so be prepared to install a couple , as i
recall , peripheral packages. it is 'prudent' to honour the admonition
about RTFM before asking questions.

bind v9.x is isc's flavour of the month. the bind maillist seems
very forgiving, and is informative. however, "upgrade to the latest
version" a constant refrain, and not to my mind, always the way to go. in
particular, recent security problems with versionss < 9.2.1 in v9 has to
be taken seriously. beta testing is not my forte, so i run 8.3.1.

all in all, i'd prefer to be running djbdns. however, until i
understand the implications involved in a RH install, i'm in a bind ...
