Greeting --
Has any one taken ( and passed) the LPI Level 1 Linux Certificaton?
What it's like, how deep doesn it go?
My impression from looking outline is it takes you to around "intermediate"
power user starge? Not really what I would consider Jr-Mid Level Linux Admin.

Yeah, I have taken it a few months ago.
I would class it as beginner level.
The two exams are easy, I didn't like the questions when they wanted the
exact command with arguments.
In every day use I would just check the man pages.
My company bought the O'Reilly LPI in a nutshell which was a waste of money
because it was just a slimmed down version
of the Linux manuals we have.

I took a test (at the request of an IT Recruiter) by a company called Proveit?
There was a half dozen questions on "iostat" about the "-t" flag and "-sy" flag
means.
The real question is "Griag, the system seem to be really sluggest today, what
up( or down)?"
The answer : iostat, vmstat, top ....etc?
I passed that one with a 75%.

You talking about 101 and 102 correct?
Was it all mutiple choice? or did you actually have to type in some of the
answers ?
Do you know if it was adaptive i.e. if you got a question on a subject right it
ask you another?
Thanks for you comments

Most of the questions were multiple choice (if I remember correctly) for
both exams.
Some questions will ask what command with arguments to perform a certain
task and you had to type in text box.
They are not adaptive. I would prefer if they changed the exam format to lab
test similiar to the RHCE.
