on a RH system, "/etc/ftpaccess" is probably the place to look.
HOWEVER, if you fail to read the manpages for 'ftpd' and 'ftpaccess'
you are asking for trouble. i get the impression you're in TOO much of a
hurry. slow down now, it will save you time ( and grief ) later ...

Hi,
You should do a 'cat /etc/redhat-release' to know which redhat
you have. For example you should see:
"[xxxxxxx:ROOT]/root # cat /etc/redhat-release
Red Hat Linux release 7.2 (Enigma)"
To allow or disallow root to make ftp you should remove or add it
to the file '/etc/ftpusers'. id. for anonymous login with the 'ftp'
user.
All the WU-ftpd stuff is configured with the /etc/ftpaccess file (man
ftpaccess), there are also deny-gid, deny-uid, allow-uid
and allow-gid commands.
For denying upload you should check for access rights (chmod) in the ftp
home directory. But you should check if anonymous is properly configured and
that they can't do a 'cd /tmp' for example.
Hope it help,
Sincerelly,
Yves GREMEAU, Ingénieur Système et Sécurité

Hi.. Dear Friends
I used to be able to send message by one NT workstation to other NT
workstation using the following command "net send <workstation name>
<message>" in command prompt, then the targeting workstation screen will
appear the message in a window. I want to know how do I do it from a UNIX
workstation. I already configured sambe on the unix server and join the NT
domain. Can I send message to NT workstation from unix in the same way?
Thanks and Regards
Simon
