I would like to upgrade my Redhat 7.1 server to Redhat 7.2, however the box has no floppy or cdrom. So I would like do install via ftp or NFS. I however do not want to install every single package manually. How can I automate the process? Is there an install script that will install all the binaries via ftp and then I can simply reboot and my machine is now upgraded to 7.2? I know about kickstart however, can kickstart be utilized while running on an existing installation or must I use a boot disk (in which case kickstart wouldn't work as I have not floppy or cdrom to boot from). Additionally, I would rather not have to put the files on a HD and run from there, a simply upgrade over network would be favorable.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Install apt (http://apt.freshrpms.net/) and 'apt-get dist-upgrade'.

You can also use "synaptic" which is a GUI for "apt"

RedHat supports installation via ftp and nfs (and hdd) besides via cd-rom.
As you don't have a floppy you can't use the installation images directly,
but you can extract the kernel, initrd and boot options from the image
(mount -o loop), install them in your /boot (or some other place) and
add the boot directives to lilo or grub.
Then, after a reboot, select that image at the boot loader prompt.
Regards,
Luciano Rocha
