Hi,
I've done something similar adding a line like the following in the
squid.conf, at the acl section:

acl pericolosi urlpath_regex "/vol1/squid/etc/files_pericolosi.acl"

where /vol1/squid/etc/files_pericolosi.acl is a text file that contains the
list of sites/domains you want to block.
Hope this helps.

Ops!
I cut and paster the wrong line! The acl type must be "dstdomain", like the
following one:
acl pericolosi dstdomain "/vol1/squid/etc/files_pericolosi.acl"

and you have to specify to deny the above acl with
http_access deny pericolosi

Check out www.squidguard. It uses squid, and is an external program which
decides if a domain, url, regex should be allowed or not. I use it for a
few sites with a a blacklist and it works well, and fast...

I have a problem printing to a network printer on
linux. I get error
message:

"cannot open connection - Connection timed out"

Ping tests to the same printer work fine so I'm
confused as to whether the problem is a connection
problem. Pls assist.

... ciao:

: on "7-6-2005" "Keletso Keletso" writ:
: problem printing to a network printer on
:
: "cannot open connection - Connection timed out"

i'd suggest you try something like:

      "telnet printer.ip.address printer.port"
                  -or-
      "http://printer.ip.address"

might offer an indication of life at cable's end ...
