This is broken in the RedHat RPM. I spent 3 days chasing it before I recompiled from source... And it then behaved correctly. If you search bugtraq, you'll find their work around, with which I don't agree. If it works from source, there is no excuse for work arounds. The lesson I learned was to be very wary of redhat RPMS.
