Hello list,

Is it possible to reset the byte counters that are displayed from
ifconfig or in the /proc/net/dev file? I'm hoping there is a way to do
it without taking the device down. In particular I'm looking to reset
eth0 and eth1 traffic at a specific interval.

Thanks in advance,

-Paul

Nope. Tried that, but if it's possible I'd hope it wouldn't require
iptables...

Any other ideas for resetting the byte coutners in /proc/net/dev (ifconfig)
