Minor nit, but I'd rather read something that looks like this:
if (type == READ && (flags & RWF_NONBLOCK))
return -EAGAIN;
else if (type == WRITE && (flags & RWF_DSYNC))
return -EINVAL;
I won't lose sleep over it, though.
