Ah-ha! I wasn't seeing it mentioned in dmesg (it should appear along
with PAN, etc, yes?) but I guess I need a newer QEMU:

$ qemu-system-aarch64 --version
QEMU emulator version 3.1.0 (Debian 1:3.1+dfsg-2ubuntu3.1)

I will go build QEMU myself! :)
